Early morning folks! Just popping in to say hi. I see there's a lot of names I don't recognize, awesome. No babies yet, they are still baking. :) I sleep most of the day now. The twins are due any day now ... So exciting/exhausting. My chickens finally started laying again and they are going...

My house is super dry so I do add water to my incubator but only to keep it at about 35% humidity. Then jumped it up 3 days before hatch. Good thing you are testing it out first. Some bators are testy.

    Angora Rabbits -- Badly Matted

Yes it depends on what kind of angoras you have. Does their coat easily pull out? If so you can cut into the mats to make them smaller and you should be able to pull them out. If not just make sure you keep your scissors at a slight angle as not to cut into their skin.

Thank you Opa! We are very excited about the twins but that excitement is met with a good dose of terror as well. LOL I just added the inside light about two weeks ago. The ladies do go outside but it seems like they like hanging out in the dark coop instead which is why I have the light...

I make sure that the light is on for 8 hours in the coop. I am kicking myself for not getting rid of the roosters earlier. For silkies they were really brutal.. one of my poor girls lost her tail feathers completely and one was bleeding. These roos didn't even have their spurs yet. :/

I guess it depends on how you are going to house them. If you are trying to do the minimal amt of work/engergy I would start them soon, so they can feather out before it starts getting really cold at night. If you start them this week they will be ready by the end of October and you can be done...
