I free range all my chickens together too! It makes things very easy. This was her second brood. she stayed with her 1st hatch for 5 weeks. She was also more attentive the othe 1st ones. The rest of the flock is very sweet to the baby too.

I had a broody hatch out one baby she seemed ok with it until last week. She decided that she didn't want to keep the baby at night any more. She tolerates her during the day. She went up to rooster and left baby. The baby just turned 3 weeks today. I have another broody sitting on eggs right...
Will it be a problem to only have one chick with a mama hen? She had 7 eggs and but only one made it to hatch. Will that baby be okay? Mama kind of looks sad she wasn't happy that I took the other eggs from her (they were clear).
I wanted to share that tonight when I went to close the coop I have 3 girls in a nests.......... If they continue to be broody it looks like I will have 6 broody hen at once.......... If any more go broody my egg production will really be down..that will be half my layers...lol

I am making myself crazy because I need to decide to give her the eggs or not because my current broody will be in lockdown tomorrow for the 1st set of eggs and I would like to give Mama the second set.........I don't want to jump the gun if she really isn't broody.....
