Finally have time to get to a computer to post pics.
Here is my Light Brahma rooster. He is almost a year old.
This is my wife's Cochin rooster. He is 7 months. Just thought I'd share it, because he turned out really handsome.
Ya, me too. I need to post some pics of mine. I'm usually on this site from my phone and I can't get the pics to post from here. I think you'll enjoy my wife's Cochin rooster. She has been playing around with the colors and came up with a real pretty rooster. I'll try to hop on the computer when...
I've been thinning out each pen and I'm down to a rooster and 2 hens per pen. They seem to have calmed now that there is plenty of room and it will sure be an ease on my feed bill.
These temps are the norm here too for this time of year. I have usually kept all my chickens mixed in large pens. This is the first year that I have decided to raise and keep breeds pure. With the breeds seperated, its become more obvious that my Brahmas and Cochins don't do as well in the heat...
This heat has been brutal on my chickens. In between 107-112 for the last week and we have another week of this to go. My Brahmas and Cochins are taking it the worst.
I've had a few roosters that did not show until six months. The only noticeable part was the comb. I'm not saying this is the case. It just looks to have a large comb for a hen and I was just describing what to look for in the future. I never said that there were noticeable saddle feathers.
