I've had my pair for almost a year, about to become hens. I have around 25 birds give or take in all, and my orpingtons (buff) are by far my most favorite two. Always the first to come and see me, always following me around, love to be held, lay large brown eggs nearly every day. They're the...
I've had these types of birds for many years, when they lay they lay decently, mine were seasonal layers of small to medium off white eggs. The roosters I've had came in many different colors, but all looked wonderful and held themselves well. Hens varied in colors as well, black to brown, grey...
So I haven't posted in a while so I figured I'd post some pics of my girls that I got in Feb. They've all mostly started laying, not sure which ones actual are and are not, save for one. Found out I didn't have some hens I thought I did before but that's alright.
Anyways here they come.

Going to do my best to show up, I'll probably only be there for about an hour or so before I have to head out for work, but it'll be nice to see what everyone brings. If there's anything I can bring let me know, think I have some extra boxes in the garage atm.

Lol I'd love to but I'm just starting at work after a looooooooooooooong layoff.
You can probably put me down as a maybe, I live just around the corner from the park but I might be working so I'm not 100% sure if I'll make it. Don't have any birds to bring but I'd like to check out what other people have.
I was more like "ahhhh so that's what it looks like" when I found the egg.
But yeah, already bought some shell and started my girls on the stuff, hope it helps. Lol and thanks for posting something, was thinking it slipped by everyone.
So I was out in my coop with the big girls when I found one of my old hens in one of the laying boxes, she jumps out and I find these.
I'm assuming that one on the left would be considered a shell less egg. Now I just started thinking she might be laying these eggs because I noticed that she...
I have a young rooster, almost a year old, he's pretty calm and nice to be around, but the other day him and my other rooster went at it through the fence that separated the two. Had a board blocking their view of each other and with the rain it kinda warped and well the lil guy got between the...
Yeah, the guy buried himself in a corner for the winter here, he's slowly but surely coming out of it when it gets warm here.
I had a duck in with some of my girls but she was hen pecked a bit, not too much where it was a problem but I could tell she wasn't happy. But since you already said you...
Not an expert here but here's what I'd do given your options.
1. I'd put it in the shade, I'd be all worried about them getting hot or their water becoming to hot in direct sun or something, maybe over worry there about them. So yeah, shade for me.
2. I have dirt in my main coop, but I'll toss...
Ok, I randomly saw this thread, and have read a number of other people's advice, saw many good ways to lose the weight that others here have posted. Now what I wanted to do was add this, whatever you decided to do, and I guess this will go for anyone wanting to lose weight too, what you really...
