    Need advise please

Thank you so much! I am trying to find one or two adult females to join her and I have 5 new babies coming that I ordered today. My heart just breaks for her, I hate that she is alone. She is still recovering, but I hope to put her out with the chickens soon.

    Need advise please

Hello, I need some advise! I lost 8 of my ducks last weekend due to a weasel. We now know what happened and have secured the area, sadly this happened after 6 years of no problems. Here is my problem, I have 1 surviving girl she is a runner. I also have 6 chickens. I know she needs a...

    I need some insight....

We have the same situation in our area, very difficult to find food specific to Ducks, with the higher protein. My ducks are out all day free ranging and mostly eat the food in the coop at night. They seem to eat a good amount, I also give them meal worms as a treat in the morning. I am trying...

Nature's Best Organic Egg Layer Pellets This is what I have been feeding all of my chickens/ducks. I think I need a separate food for the ducks though, seems they need more protein.

    I need some insight....

Thank you for your insight. We feed them Purina organic layer feed (for chickens). I was considering if they are not getting correct nutrition. They have a 3/4 acre pond that they are in and out of free ranging all day. No males. Although my Cayuga doesn’t lay, but she does get broody...

    I placed an order.......gulp.

Well, I place an order for 5 guinea. I have not had any before. I have chickens and ducks, but thought guinea sounded interesting. I am reading so many negative stories of mixing guinea and chickens I am wondering if I have made a mistake. Any words of wisdom from the pro's? I have a...

    Baby chick prolapse vent...HELP!

Thank you so much for your help!! I will try the anti-inflammatory cream. I am keeping it moist. I have her in the house with a heat lamp so she can warm up if she wants to. I am going to ask hubby to help me make an area in the brooder with everyone else for company. Again thanks!

    Baby chick prolapse vent...HELP!

Thank you! I posted a picture as well. I will do the epsom salt bath this morning. She has been pooping, but when she does, she is pushing the prolapse out further. I feel so bad for her. I have her separated and she just chirps all day, I think she is lonely. I hold her as much as I can...

    Baby chick prolapse vent...HELP!

I haven't posted in a long time. I just got baby chicks almost 2 weeks ago. I woke up this morning to one of them with a prolapse. I have done some research. This is what I have done so far: Cleaned and soaked in warm water, tried a bit of witch hazel, used Prep H, sprayed with Vetericyn...

They all sleep in the right side coop, it is larger than it looks in the picture. I live in Southern California, mild weather all year.

HELP!!! They are picking on one of my girls......................

Thank you for the advice. I do have a smaller coop that I could move a few to if I have to, but I am worried that if I do that they won't get along free ranging. I guess for now I will wait and see if they work things out.

This is my coop. Should be plenty of room, and they also free range during the day.
