What color are all their legs? If the hens' differ, I wonder if you could figure it out based on that. Your cockerel's legs look slate? Or are they white?
Am a little concerned about this one. The coloring looks like silver partridge (?) and I read a lighter breast on that color bodes well for a pullet - but the comb is giving me pause; looks pretty pronounced for a walnut on a girl. What do y'all think?
Oh wow, those are some cuties. Sorry to hear you lost one young :( At 5 days ours had a similar colored beak, but it was also dark when we got it at 2 days old. Reeeally hoping it darkened up fast and ends up being female!
Last week our neighbor gave us a little 2-day old Welsh harlequin duckling that her daughter brought home but was unable to care for. Judging by its beak color it's likely male (I know this isn't a for-sure way to sex WHs - though the daughter said that, with one exception, this has held true at...
Just checked back in on this thread and OMG, this thing really developed. If Kelsey really did die, that's terrible and I feel for her and her family. That said, it seems more likely that this is not the case. I mean... a fake obit?? Really, how much more scammy can you get than that? While it's...
I'm like 78% sure her kid's name is Milo... I remember her posting about the birth last year and thinking "that's a nice name."
Hope IG cracks down on this nonsense! And glad to hear her followers are catching on and dropping her.
Wow, you can do that? Just change your IG handle, delete your content, and keep all your followers? Been wondering how I accidentally followed that account. Looks like she goes by "Harper" on there now, which seems duplicitous to say they least. So sketchy. I reported her account.
Oh wow, I'm sorry you're going through this! I noticed the HH site and social media accounts had vanished and was wondering what happened; can't believe she just took your money like that!
My experience with HH was mixed. I bought some eggs from Kelsey last year. While it was hard to get ahold...
I think they're all pullets! Which is a surprise given the big combs a couple of them had as chicks.
(Keep an eye on the blue one, though; that redness is a little concerning. But still, a small single comb at that age bodes well.)
Beautiful flock!
We have the sweetest little 4-month-old cochin/silkie roo who started crowing awhile ago. We live in a city and can't keep roosters due to close neighbors, and have been planning to rehome him when he gets too loud. But... he hasn't! I've read that it usually takes only a few weeks for them to...
