Bald spot on Hens neck. Should I do anything about it?

I don't see any bugs or lice. She just has this bald spot on her neck. I thought it was smaller but then when we checked it out just now and pulled away her feathers it was a larger bald spot than I thought. There is no blood either. Not sure why or what I should do about it if anything?

    Hens tormenting chicks

The approach I used was suggested on this site. When the chicks, pullets, are ready to go outside, put them in the coop late at night. Then the hens will wake up in the morning, see the pullets, and go about their day. That did not work. I am past the stage of introducing pullets to hens...

    Hens tormenting chicks

I followed the instructions posted on this site when I introduced my four chicks to my two hens. However the hens did not fall for the trick of putting the chicks in the coop at night. The chicks are 10 weeks old now and still the hens bully the chicks around. Sometimes it sounds scary as...

What should I do with my hens body now that she has passed?

The title pretty much covers it. Someone suggested throwing her in the trash but I don't think that is a good idea. We have dogs so I can not bury her in the backyard either....

Dirty bum, gave hen a bath. Should I do more?

Gave Violet a bath and cleaned up her dirty bum. She was falling asleep while in the bathtub. Dried her off a little and she is now resting in the 'hen hospital'. She ate and drank, but I think she is sleeping now. Should I do more?

    Is this a Buff Orpington??

I ordered 4 chicks from a feed store that is suppose to be reputable. We drove 60 miles one way to get these chicks. I specifically told them that I wanted a Buff Orpington. I was assured that it was. Three days later, one of the other chicks died. Don’t know why. There wasn’t much I...

    Is this a Buff Orpington??

This chick is 8 weeks old tomorrow. I have seen other pics of Buffs and they are a bit darker. This one looks like she is going to be white. When I ordered my chicks the first one was a Buff Orpington because I have always wanted one. I just don't know if they turn color as they get older or...

I was the same exact way. I loved to hear their bird sounds, it was just so nice. The house is just too quite without them.

In making a bath for the chickens, where can I get the sand for it. I read that you are not suppose to use play sand. Can I use sand that is down by the river or the sand that your purchase, is it cleaned before selling?

I don't know anything about Roto-tiller engines but it does not sound good at all. Plus it makes it even worse when you are working so hard for the chickenfest...sorry!
