Yes our hens will do that to one another as well. I have several broodys currently and they’re all doing the puffed up clucking broody thing. He just really doesn’t want to hear what she’s saying I guess.
A few weeks ago our yearish old olive egger rooster, who has been a DREAM guy up until now, has started being very aggressive with our ameraucana hen. She goes broody every year, however this year isn’t sitting on eggs, just running around puffed up and clucking like a nut. I’m guessing he sees...
It’s confirmed! The red splotches did not lie. He started crowing yesterday morning and sounds like an old time horn or one of those little party favor whistle things haha
Thanks! I love the colors on that one too. Ill probably keep him as long as he is good with the ladies. I have a feeling he’s going to be a handsome man fully grown
Now 13 weeks, are these two still looking like pullets? Fairly certain the gray one is pullet, just with some chonky legs. The other one I still feel like is a sneaky cockerel..
Glad I could help!! No speckles, but she throws a heavy bloom every once in a while that gives the egg a gray, cement like color. Love it when she lays those! Fingers crossed your girls gives you some speckles!!!
I have an OE that looks very much like yours, she’s about 3 years old now, lays a green egg that is sometimes on the blueish side. Coincidentally I got her from Meyer Hatchery, not the same Meyer as you, but they sure look similar!
