Then perhaps it's the lighting that does that effect ?
Hmmm...Maybe if she is the oldest, the others' feathers aren't yet fully developed the iridescence isn't so visible on them yet ?
I'm just supposing, since the feathers I collected from my trips at the zoo do show green iridescence, when...
I'd think you white is a male too, judging by how the "train" looks like and his spurs too.
Then like Kedreeva said, front left in the last picture is a Blackshoulder hen.
"Cleo" must be a male, if there is the blue, but especially because I can see some barrings on the wings, which is exclusive...
Yes he does look Spalding to me too ~
Just if you look at the back of a pure Green peacock you'd see no barrings, while you would in a Spalding peacock.

I know one of my Dad's friends has Free ranging peafowls too, and he does have chickens as well, and in fact, his peafowls do happen to kill the chicken chicks, however, not every peafowl will go after the chicks. So in my opinion it really depends from each individual's behaviour or something...
Oh, oh !
I have a few things I could post to contribute, but I need to find them all, heh.
But I have this picture of two peahens fanning their tails :

*sigh* Sad facts for me then.
My neighbors will never tolerate that, bah...I guess I'm not getting them.
But thank you for all your replies, greatly appreciated !
I see and for further explanation hmm...would you be able to tell approximately how often they do that early in the morning ? Or is it everyday ?
Heh, sorry I'm still new. xD
Oh yes that would be nice ! Well, hopefully everyone agrees, including the neighbors, considering their house aren't so far from ours.
Though one thing bothers me, is that I heard people say they used to have peahens waking them up at 4 in the morning honking for males ?
So would a peahen call...
Well, if we DO get peahens (cuz my dad seems to be changing his mind which saddens me, as it's my birthday soon...), there will in fact be people to help us, I'd be catching one with my sis or mom, while my dad and an other guy would catch an other one. We have plenty of time ahead if we...
It was stressful, I really really wanted mom to agree !
And all she basically wants is for me to clean my room more often.
And yes, I'll have to catch those two girls myself. I have no idea how though.
But since they are used to being handfed, I guess we can start from there. o:
Thanks Nathhowe !
And thanks for the thread Kedreeva, it helped me a lot regarding what I should include in the "pen" or not.
Although for sure our pen will not be so fancy, because we are just keeping them for a limited amount of time before they find a new home, but I want them to feel at...
