Bees are not wasps or hornets! Don't confuse them - such an insult to the bee! Roosting Robin - Check out the bee clubs in your area. Most of them offer Bee Classes. Ours does, and I took it four years ago. And get yourself a bee mentor - our class hooks you up with one. It is really helpful to have someone to talk bees with - the learning curve is tremendous...- Kismet

I candled 57 eggs last night and took out 9 infertile and 1 with a bloodring. I left in 5 with ?, just wasn't sure. So, still have 47 possibilities. I also have 4 eggs in there that I rescued from my fired broody. They are still alive and their air pocket looks like it as about Day 14, but...- Kismet

MontanaDolphin - I have also successfully hatched a repaired egg. Mine cracked at the seven day candling - my fault - I was so upset, because it was a roo/hen combination that I really wanted. My test hatch is done, although I'll keep the bator on today for the few eggs that didn't hatch. I have 17 happy chicks, 62% - not the best but so much better than the last time. Easter hatch will be even better I hope. The last chick out measured a 20% weight loss on day 18, so I guess...- Kismet
