They seemed to be settling in just fine when I checked on them last night. All six were on the bar. All 6 were alive this morning. "Big Mama" was looking out the window.
They were pretty confused but I moved them out of the house today and into their coop outside. They were 8 weeks old yesterday. Any advice on how long I should leave them in there to get used to it before I start letting them out ?
Ours just came today. Its a little smaller than we expected but it looks pretty easy to expand in the future. We only have six chickens. We r going to build our own run around it and put some stick on vinyl on the walls. Our Dog Texas wanted to check it out too.
I've got three barred Plymouths and three buff orps 4 weeks old; and they all peck everything including the brooder walls. They also scratch the ground alot and I can't get the wood shavings out of the feeders fast enough. Good luck :)
Thanks! We just expanded the brooder two days ago. We used our dogs old pen. We had the scrap wood and it was the perfect size to slide through the holes. There are three roosts. Two are long and overlap eachother so the birds can walk from one to the other and then there's that short one in...
So adorable! Chicks too. :). Mine were three weeks old Yesterday. These pics are from their first time outside. Took them today. We didn't stay out long it was a bit chilly.
