I know what your saying!!! I started with 9 chickens, and now DH has decided to raise pigs, beef cattle and says I can get a goat!!!! He also wants pheasants, and quail! I'm currently up to 21 chickens with two hens setting. And I still keep studying the McMurray catalog!!!! We're going to have...
Hi! It's hot here in NY too. I've got one on seven eggs and so far she's still setting, but maybe your hen is just trying to regulate the temp. a little bit. Good luck!
Heron, when will your next book be out? I've got Still Life in hard cover, but I do like the way you write!!!! I call them comfort books! Just a really enjoyable read. Thanks!

I have a nephew stationed in Afganistan and worry about him every day!!! I'm not sure the war's about Bin Laden any more. In fact I'm not sure if any of the powers to be know what we are doing over there!!!! I want them all home like yesterday!!!!!!

As for me, I never even thought about chickens when I was growing up. Then all of a sudden I had chicken wallpaper, glass chickens, chicken baskets you name it!!!!! It was only natural to me to go to the real thing. I know I don't regret it. I find my babies calming. I love to listen to them...
I almost didn't reply to this post as your in-laws made me so mad!!! Their dog tried to attack their grand child??? All I could suggest is fencing around your yard so the dogs couldn't get in but Expensive!!!!
