Chicken only lays soft shell eggs

Now she’s looking off. Ruffled feathers, lethargic, not eating and sitting by herself. Crop looks normal so now I fear one broke inside her because the ones she does lay usually break as soon as she lays them. Fearing the worst for this one.

    fart eggs

I have a chicken that lays one daily. She doesn’t lay normal eggs, only these little yolk less ones. Lots of egg white omelets coming our way

Chicken only lays soft shell eggs

I rescued some chickens on Christmas Eve. It’s been a nightmare. One issue after another. But my question is I’m regards to one that only lays soft eggs. They are three years old, on layer feed with oyster shell available. It’s been months and it’s not improving. My nest boxes are wood and now...

    Chicken laying yolk less eggs

That was my thought as well. These poor things suffered for years. I’m sure they are damaged from it.

    Chicken laying yolk less eggs

Yes I’m familiar with what they are but my question is why would she do this every time she laid. There was nothing but white inside. Not even a tiny dot of anything else that I can see unless it’s microscopic.

    Chicken laying yolk less eggs

They weren’t laying at all when I got them. Took a long time to get them to start. I feed Blue Seal layer pellets. This is either one of the red sex links or Rhode Island reds. I’ve got it narrowed down but can’t determine which of the two is doing it yet.

    Chicken laying yolk less eggs

I’m rehabbing some chickens I rescued and getting them laying again. One lays soft shell eggs but I’ve got it to where it’s now very thin shelled eggs so she’s improving. However I have one who is laying mini eggs that are just white and no yolks. It’s regularly as well, not just a fluke. Nice...

Chickens comb is cold and purple

I got some nutri drench and added that to the water. Said it was for chickens off their feed. She’s got pellets, yogurt and baby food in her crate and she’s opting for the shavings. I’m at such a loss

Chickens comb is cold and purple

Thank you for that info. My big issue now is she won’t stop eating the shavings. She even tried eating any feather she could find, like she has pica.

Chickens comb is cold and purple

Yes it definitely did make her spit up. Okay I won’t do that then. I just felt bad because everytime she’d try to tip her head down to drink it would spill out of her mouth.. I was using clotrimazole but the vet said just use yogurt (??). She said they didn’t have Nystatin, because I asked for...

Chickens comb is cold and purple

I brought her back into the bathroom and her comb warmed back up and is red again. Her crop feels squishy again though. She’s not vomiting when I massage it like she was but I feel nothing is working. If she’s not better by tomorrow I’ll have to bring her back to be euthanized as no vets here...

Chickens comb is cold and purple

I had a chicken with sour crop who I brought to the vet yesterday. She had her crop flushed and x-ray taken was given fluids and an injection to increase mobility in her digestive system as there was no impaction or foreign object in her crop. This morning was the first morning she ate since...

Lasting diarrhea and starting to spread

Yeah botulism came to mind but I’ve been dealing with this for 6 weeks and no symptoms besides diarrhea. Other than that they are active, eating and drinking. However the one who has the worst diarrhea and who had it first is not laying.

Lasting diarrhea and starting to spread

I’m worried about something they caught from eating the corpse of the other chicken

Lasting diarrhea and starting to spread

I’ve been giving them probiotics and grit. But no I haven’t thought about salmonella as I’ve never dealt with anything like this. My previous chickens were properly cared for since chicks. This is very shocking to me.

Lasting diarrhea and starting to spread

They are not locked in the coop at night. They also have the run of half a garage. These are the only chickens I have. I owned them years ago but had no intention of getting any here. This was an emergency situation.

Lasting diarrhea and starting to spread

No idea how old the feed is or what type it is. She would buy things from Tractor Supply so something from there. Just ran out yesterday so I’ll be switching them anyway. Just didn’t want to switch the day they arrived as I was afraid that would be even more stress. They have grit and shells...
