IP Camera with Infrared lights, will it affect the chickens?

I had on in my coop for years and never bothered them a bit. The only time they would look at it is when I was panning the camera.

Post your Pop Door (and lock) pics

Quote: Even though I live with no threat of any heavy snow or ice, I'm sure you can build a roof of sorts over the pop door to keep any snow or ice build up a bay.

Drill a hole about 6" above the door latch, attach a string or wire to the latch and feed through the hole to the inside. You'll never be locked in again!

I have three now... all three still going strong. I had to replace the valve in the first on though but it was a used valve to begin with.

New Coop with bad smell.. help

Waste is one of my primary missions in feeding my birds. As far as I can tell there is zero waste with this set-up, and I check it quite often. When I had it closer to the ground, (and they had sure footing on the floor of the coop) they would flick out some but not a lot. Since I raised it I...

New Coop with bad smell.. help

All the measurments are relavent to your feeder size and hieght. The top of the stool is about 6" below the feeder and about 8" from the feeder. I took the feeder and set it on some kraft paper, laid out some 2X4's around it and took some measurements. All of the boards are cut on a 22½° angle...

New Coop with bad smell.. help

At first, I hung it about 8" off the floor but the chickens kept filling it with shavings so I hung it about 18" off the floor and built the "chicken stool". Problem solved! I did something similar for the automatic waterer in the coop.

New Coop with bad smell.. help

I had the same problem. In my old coop, they were in there every night having a field day. I know this because I have a IP camera in the coop. When I built the new coop I went through extensive measures to make it "mouse proof". The first week in the new coop was great, I did it. It was Mouse...

Lime will get rid of the odor. If mice were there before, they will come back after you give them a food source.

Leveling yard and need a bit of help

You could shim it with scrap ceramic tile but really, I wouldn't worry too much about it, it's a coop!

Thanks, I've built several and all are still going strong. I had to replace the valve on one that I made for a friend of mine but I'm pretty sure he never cleans it out.

Little Giant Chick Fount Waterer Problem. Help!

Sorry for the slow reply. Go to the auto-parts store and get a valve stem tool, maybe $2. Not sure if that is the proper name or not but they will know what you're talking about and demonstrate how to use it.
