Sorrow Sorrow... just downsized from a big house in Newtown to a smaller house and property in Brookfield and having flock adjustment issues. I think I am private here enough to sneak in a couple of hens no problem but my boy is an obvious neighborhood menace... anyone interested in a free...- pmessner

I would recommend heading over to the Bethel agway for feed and bedding... they should have organic feed. Shavings work well though I actually use hay because I have a free source. You can spend money on a waterer or what I actually do is use a couple of empty cat food cans with 5/8 inch trap...- pmessner

Thanks for the Beacon Falls info.... I'm looking for a more chicken friendly zone... would like to maybe have a small farm. 20 is not quite enough. The Beacon Falls property I was looking at has 6+ acres.... 186 West Rd... sounded interesting but the 20 chicken restriction is definitely an...- pmessner

Beacon Falls folks... I was wondering about the chicken zoning regs in your area... there is an interesting property I am going to go look at there but I don't know much about the area. I don't even know if it has its own schools... my children are grown so that doesn't matter much... just need...- pmessner

I had a similar problem but was never able to resolve it... the others beat on her miserably until she went lame... I like your thinking here. I would try this.- pmessner
