So question, we used to have pine trees in our front yard. I never noticed bees on them. Would bees feed from them and if so what would the honey taste like??
Ouch!! I donโt blame you at all! My grandparents used to have some hives wayyy before I came along and I was told my grandfather would just go out to the hives without anything on and the bees never bothered him! They probably would sense my fear, Iโm not actually scared of bees by themselves...
Before reading this article I had no idea bees could even get mites! I guess no creature can avoid parasites. Itโs sad that you will have to kill some of the bees but I understand it is for the better of the colony!โค๏ธ
They are mallards! A friend from our church has some mallards and they just started laying eggs this year so they wanted to see if we could hatch some for them. For first time layers this year they had a great fertility rate. Out of 12 eggs all of them were fertile, sadly only 3 made it to hatch...
Here is a pic of the ducks to brighten your day!โค๏ธ One has a little egg membrane still attached because I had to assist him/her. But three out of three is pretty good! They were moved to their new home Sunday where they will have a huge pond and plenty of duck friends when they get older.
I know how you feel, I forgot to candle before lockdown and went to sleep last night thinking I should have put more water in the incubator to up humidity then I wake up this morning to pips! I added the water quickly lol!
