These pics are just a few minutes ago.
All of these are about 3.5 months old.
These sapphire splash girls are always close to their BLRW buddies.
It’s been raining all day.
Good luck, sometimes they just are good at hiding.
I once thought one of mine was a goner and she showed back up later in the day. I still have no idea where she went.
From my limited experience and research, BLRW don’t breed true.
As a result, the lacing and color isn’t uniform. So some will be closer to black coloring than the steel blue and some will be closer to white-ish.
My youngest ones (In the pot with 2 sapphire splash friends), Merida and Alita...
Ghost and Gracie are about 2 weeks old in these pics.
Here are my most recent. They are about about 3 and a half months now
Sorry, these are all I have on my phone now, but I’ll get some later today, weather permitting, so you can see them better.
They like to bathe in my empty planters...
I sat pullet.
Looks just like my Sapphire Splash girls.
Groucho (photo w/ a Dominique in the background ) is 6 months old and Ghost and Gracie (the two in the planter with some BLRW) are 4 months.
I got my first 2 weeks ago. I have two Dominiques that lay now on alternating days.
So at least we have one egg a day, as of now. One of the silkies started a few days later.
So exciting!!
No, it just has never bothered her, so I just stopped worrying about it.
She actually ended up being my first layer in my flock.
She laid her first egg on Thursday and another yesterday!
Guess Baby won’t let a crooked toe get in her way.
