I notice that when Peanut lays 3 eggs in one day, one will be soft. The morning one is always big and firm and if two others are laid in same day, they are smaller and sometimes a soft.
Hi,
I dont really know the answer to your question as I have one female ( 41/2 months) laying too and one male. I am just leaving mine together..? Are we supposed to separate them?
My female built a beautiful lil nest too..so cute. She lays on the eggs at night.
Hello,
If any of you know of a wonderful home for my ducks, please message me. I am very attached but my homeowners does not allow it and to be fair, I want them to have a pond or place more suitable to ducks. My ideal would be someone who was set up for ducks: pond, protected area at night...
I have zero issues with what anyone else does with their eggs, but please just understand this is "new" to us and maybe in future we will get past it being a pets egg, nor would I care if someone who would eat her egg wanted too..but for now me and the kids just do not feel comfortable with it...
I am not worried about it "scarring" them, but it would be their choice and not mine. My parents were here for a visit and said they could not eat Peanuts egg and my dad is a hunter..lol

She has laid 3 eggs in one day but one will be soft if she does that. Also, she has laid double yolks. We have opened a few. Can a double yolk be fertilized and hatch two ducks from one egg?
Hi Mum, thanks for the reply:) Peanut is laying now in same spot inside. She has laid 10 eggs so far.
I totally understand what you mean about eating the eggs as just a mental block, and I think its because we do not know if they are fertile. What are the chances of this first batch being...
Sherry, why not use pine straw over the dirt, or small pebbles. At least they wouldnt be standing in the dirt and poop and it is easy to hose down.
The only way I have found to eliminate a fly issue is bringing them inside to eat. Leftover wet food attracts flys.
I also hose down any visible...
Since you just got them, I would build up their trust in you for a while: dont go after them, just sit with them ..they will eventually realize you are the hand that feeds them and are not a threat.
