Hey, DeesHens, you know what's cool and creepy too? My Australorp, Maya, has black eyes, but you can easily see her whites too, so they look sort of human. And dog-like too.
Lucky! My Australorps should be laying their first egg really soon, but i'm not sure if they will because of less daylight. As it is, I'm only getting about one egg a week from my two Ameracaunas. I have 6 other pullets that should be laying their eggs really soon too.
I know how the grass patches work! The wire is low enough so that the chickens can get at the grass, but they can't ruin it by scavenging in it.The cinder blocks help keep the wire up.

i wish i could do the same,every time ive had a rooster, they dont just cock-a -doodle in the morning, and at night, they do it about every 5 minutes.Plus, my room is right next to the garage.
