Uhm, I'm not a doctor, but I would NOT suggest doing that. Consuming tons of eggs every day could be very dangerous. Eggs are extremely high in cholesterol. Sell the eggs, give them away to people, or give them away to a food bank. Please don't eat 12+ eggs a day...
I never got a paper with any information on it, so I'm not sure what the dewormer was. They just had me take home some syringes with the stuff already in it. The vitamin mixture is Durvet Vitamins & Electrolytes. I'm making a little chicken first aid kit also, I'll probably post about it soonish...
The vet I went to is supposed to be a livestock vet. 😬 I could probably ask them to run a fecal test. There is a livestock vet that's further away that I could maybe try also.
About 1-2 hours away, I think so.
I did raise my eyebrows a bit when the vet said that "Her comb looks pale, it should be red." She's only 8-9 weeks old, and I told him that. Do you think it'd be worth it to try what he gave us, or do you think it'd do more harm than good?
My girl Clover has been acting iffy over the past few days. She's been lethargic and seems to have lost a bit of weight. Her poops looked to be normal at first, but then she started having watery poops. We took her to the vet today. She pooped on the table at the vet, and there was a red mucousy...
Update and a question!
We got the roof mostly done! We were short a couple panels, so we'll be finishing it up tomorrow. It definitely helps with the temperature. You can feel how much cooler it is under there with the roof on! It'll rain tomorrow, so we'll see how that goes.
Now we have the...
The roof frame is done! We're putting the roofing panels on next week. We've got to finish the skirt, the doorframe, and some side strips in the meantime. We're getting there!
To those of you that are having this issue, is it a covered run or an uncovered run? We're building a covered run, and I'm concerned that it won't be enough. It rains a ton here, and I wonder if the surrounding area puddling up is enough to make the run itself muddy.
Yeah, we picked the 3' size because it's way easier to work with and fasten on to the kennel panels. I'm weak as hecc and it was super easy to do! Time consuming, but easy. 🤣
We bought two 100' rolls of 3' wide hardware cloth. That is enough to cover the entirety of all the panels. If we didn't have minks and weasels in our area, we'd only need one roll to do the bottom half of the kennel panels and it would have been way easier. 😅 We applied it horizontally with two...
Thanks!
We used 1/2" 17 gauge hardware cloth from DeerBusters. The wiring is 19 gauge, but it's 17 gauge with the coating. We used metal zip ties from Amazon to fasten the skirt to the run, and also to fasten the mesh to the kennel panels. We used hog rings to get the mesh nice and snug against...
WEEK 6
Group photo of my pretty girls! I'm no longer worried that they're cockerels. They've all got flesh-colored combs and wattles with just a hint of pink. Molly (the Leghorn) and Clover (the New Hampshire Red) are still friendly as ever. Lindy Lou (the Cuckoo Maran) has started to get a bit...
