    13 hens not laying

No they don't. It's 13 of them and they have a 20x20 area that they're in. I let the free range for a few hours, but the hound dog would have chicken dinner every night of they free ranged all day.

    13 hens not laying

Hey guys I have 13 hens of various breeds that are cold hardy that have all together stopped laying eggs. I haven't gotten a single egg in 9 days. The hens appear to be healthy. It has gotten colder here in Maryland but I didn't figure they stop completely. Any help to get some eggs coming?

They'll just be smaller. That's when "cornish game hens" are processed.

    Processing chickens

So I had my cornish crosses turn 6 weeks today and decided to go on a test run since I've never processed a chicken before, which lead me to a few questions. 1. How the hell do you guys pluck all the feathers out??! Had my water temp at 155, could pull a wing feather out with ease. Couldn't...

So right now we have 2 hens that are laying and 10 that will start very soon. I can not seem to make my two layers lay in the nesting box of the coop. I have tried gold balls and the fake eggs, and they continue to lay in the middle of the coop. Which is fin for 2 eggs, not for 12! Any help on...

post your chicken coop pictures here!

It's a tractor not a coop but still wanted to share. Built the whole thing woth pressure treated 2x4 and plywood for under $80. Got the wood from the 70% off section at the depot. It has retractable wheels and is 10x12

Just moved my 23 birds into their tractor, they love the grass and fresh air. Seem to be doing real well outside. I am going to try the 12 on 22 off food method, has this works for any of you guys ?
