    Pyxis' Emu Chat Thread

I set 3 on the 9th, 3 more the 20th & will set 6 Monday...not from my own though unfortunately as they’re too young. I’m hoping for eggs next year’s season, they’ll be 20 months old at the start so I’ve got my fingers crossed.

Show off your Emus! (Or Rheas/Ostritches!)

I'd guess more likely stress from the move, but it is still early for some. Doubtful its too cold, most lay even when its cold enough to freeze the eggs before you can find them. Hopefully soon for you!

    d'Uccle color genetics

Is there a chart out there showing the color patterns/breeding outcomes? I'm wondering if some patterns breed true or if different color crosses produce odd patterns. My pen consists of MF, BMF, Porcelain, BM, W & GN...they're all penned together. My roos are MF, GN & BM. My Golden Neck is...

    Any idea at bantam breed?

Clean legged, normal toes. Came from ideal poultry so it's just a "hatchery" quality pure bred. I know a lot of bantam breeds but not all as chicks, in hoping as unique looking it is that it'll be easier to tell

    Hatch along 2015

Lol I don't think it matters as long as it's easy for you! I use baby band aids with a permanant marker for mine, it sticks pretty well. You have some nice size eggs so that's good, they probably came from mature pairs. The first week is always hard to not weigh them every day because I'm...

    Hatch along 2015

Mamawolf that's up to you, I like posting mine & comparing them to others results... My eggs just got weighed for their first week & all are on target but egg C, it lost half of what it should have & I rotate the eggs daily to different parts of the incubator...so I'm thinking an early dud. I...
