This spring and summer have been so busy. Wild little donkeys, and broody hens take all your spare much time.
I have three minis, a spotted Jack, a Jenny, and 6 month old gelding. The baby is named Valentine because he has a spot in the shape of a heart on his hip.
He is a sweet boy, but has more energy than I have ever seen in a Donk. When he is old enough we will start training he to pull a cart...

Well, baby donkey finally got here, and his name is Valentine because he has one white spot in the shape of a heart.
I am getting 4 for 4 almost ever day from the chickens now, and we will start on the new coop soon. What can I say chicken math...
Have 4 for 4 eggs most days now!! Yay!
We are still waiting on baby Donkey to finish cooking...looks like any day now.
Hope to start on new coop for the big girls soon as foal is a few weeks old.
The spotted Donkey in my avatar missed the chickens so much when they didn't come out of the run...
My last girl finally laid an egg yesterday...10 months old! Yea! Of course it was all the way in the back of the run, under the coop.

Tomorrow is the annual Dogs on the Catwalk here in Greensboro...always fun, and raises money...
My chicken coop is in the middle of the pasture, and the donkeys are very good with chickens. When the chickens are out at feeding time you always see chickens in the donkey's feed bowls. The donkeys don't even share with each other.

Big Mama ate from my hand yesterday! They do get tamer after they start to lay, but just to make I knew who was really in charge she gave me the sink eye the whole time. Baby steps...
I can't even imagine...it was in the 70s here yesterday. By Thursday we will in the teens at night and not above freezing during the day. The way chickens can adjust is amazing.
