On the eating coyote posts...I seam to remember something about the donner party how they tried coyote and said it was horrible tasting. Sort of creapy and I wonder if it is really true relating to the donners.
I have heard from others that coyote tastes terrible.
That being said I have seen a...
Good info.
So if I have so dried beens that fall down in the garden in the soil if my future chickens eat them they will be sick and maybe die?
Yikes...that is hard because there are always a few left over dry beens around.

Love the pictures. Perfect to share the little cuties. Love these orps.
Now if the pullet turns out to be a boy splash....why not just keep it. If you breed blue to slpash would you not have a 50 50 shot at then getting a splash pullet?
just a thougth. Maybe suede really wants another man...
I am so sorry for you loss
Very said..I do often want to give animals the benifit of the doubt but this sounds like it was pretty dangerious. They did break into your coop and then attack and then not back down.

IMO once this critter is habituated and knows how to break in they will be back. Best to not make this problem someone elses best to shoot habituated animals. I do not like killing anything but this animal hanging around doing so much damage will just be back and if it is not doign it to you...
thanks so much unionwirewoman. It that does help. What nail size would you suggest for framing?
I assume these do not usually come with a stapler...but usually it is best to get one thing for what is needed for not combo stuff.

I really love power tools but have never embarked on compressors and nailers. I am hoping a few of you experienced construction members will help me out with a few of my bumbling questions.
A compressor out here would be nice for the common flat car tire too.
Ok if I get a nailer that uses...
I think it is the same thing that drives collage kids to see how many can fit in a vw bug or phone booth (do they still have phone booths?). The desire to see if it can be done.

I understand what happened in ID. The wolves you had orginally were probably not as bad as these now canadian wovles.
What is happening here in NM/AZ is worse only because these animals were cage raised and released out of their orginal range. They are also allowed to constantly be...

I cannot agree more chatty. Seams like people have gotten crazy and have forgoten that animals do pose a threat. THey put these human emotions into predators and do not understand that when a bear continues to "visit" that animal is probably looking for diner and protecting our family and...

That is just silly. That bear was a threat. I think some peopel have gotten a little nutty when they do not understand that a bear will not look at them as something to eat.
I was still suprised no one had a gun in their purse at the zoo and shot that tiger. I am sure people worry...
Are you telling me that if your life is endanger by a predator or human you cannot shoot? :o
In tucson I know their were stories about sabino canyon lions stalking kids...to me if a parent shot a lion stalking or following (call it what you will) why would the sherrif be doing anything but...

Coyotes will actually act puppy like and playful to suck a dog in...then the pack decends. Like you said gang up. Seen this about to start on a friends dog and we were able to interrupt it by running over the coyotes with our horses.
Also I have heard will use a female in heat - have...
If it was the coop I was think of the lady painted beautiful images of her hens. Loved it esp the bard rock. Thought what a fantistic idea.
I think it was the coop in the garage. Maybe listed under large coops?
