I read somewhere a while back about using a pipe cleaner to help straighten the curled toe. You cut the cleaner to toe size, straighten the toe, and attach the cleaner to the toe with a bandage.
I have 5 - a RIR, Golden Comet, Barred Rock ,and 2 EE. I enjoy the variety and they do seem to get along well as a flock. And, I am getting some lighter brown eggs, darker brown eggs, and now some light greens.

Chicken wire is not strong enough, or tightly woven enough, to keep most predators out, unfortunately. Something like hardware cloth is a much better option.
How long has she been laying? Sometimes it just happens, but more details would be helpful. What are you feeding? Are you providing oyster shell or some other calcium source?
