I have kept my guinea keets inside because it has been too cold (low 30^'s)but they are getting wild and need to go to coop asap. I have a coop for them and Temps next week will get to low 50's. Will their ecoglow which they are not even getting under right now, be enough outside in the coop? I...
I have 1 year old guinea fowl, 3 males, and 1 female. I had 9, but have lost 5 :( So I have 12 week old babies that have their own coop and run, but in another month, they will outgrow this coop and be big enough to join the other 4 in the larger coop/run. Right now the 4 adults are not free...
I want to sell my duck eggs in Texas and cannot seem to find any information either. These posts are from a few years ago so wondering if anyone has received any more info?
I have 6 guineas that will be a year old next month, 2 boys and 4 girls that have been confined to coop and large run. They are pretty happy. I lost 3 of them and so wanted to get the flock larger so they will have a better chance at survival roaming together. I have 14 babies coming next...
Did you ever figure out what this is? I have a guinea hen who had same thing, only it was much squishier. We thought impacted crop, but when we went to surgically open up, after 2 layers of skin, this dark purple odorless liquid came spewing out. We got it all out and she seemed fine, but...
Right now my guineas are in a coop with large run and are 9 months old. They started laying eggs and there are about 2 every day or every other day and I am up to 6 now. I have been putting them in an incubator. If I get 20 or so would it work for me to move them all back into the coop in a...
I hope that is what it is. She is feeling good and even perched which she has not done in a while but I kind of feel like it might be filling up again with fluid.
Thought guinea had impacted crop so we started to cut to empty crop. We just got through 2 skin layers and this purple red watery liquid just spewed out. It did not smell and it eventually drained and her crop/chest was normal again. She seems to be doing fine and hapoy to have that out. We...
I have one guinea that has an impacted crop and so had her in an isolated pen in their coop as we are about to have the impacted crop surgically emptied. I went to tend to her and suddenly found one of my healthy guineas just like this. No signs of injury, neck was intact, no signs of illness...
This just happened to me just now. I found my guinea fowl flat on the ground with her legs underneath her. no sign of broken neck or injury or illness. She was 9 months old.
They have been a bit wishy washy when I give them grasshoppers, but figured it was because they never have gotten truly hungry always having feed and mealworms available.
We did originally get them to-eat bugs. We don't seem to have ticks and fleas here, but we do have an ungodly amount of grasshoppers. We wanted them to take them out for us because they are destroying so much. But I also wanted them to be happy. They seem happy, but I figured they are wild so...
Perfect! That was my plan so far to keep them on this and then needing something less expensive long term and I had found the Purina Pellets at Tractor Supply afforable. Thank you!
Thank you! I checked with local feed store and they have chicken starter and game starter for about $22 for 50lbs, just was unsure if I should give that to them. I noticed for adult ducks they have pellet food, is that what they eat as adults or is that an option? I am new to all of this!
Thank you so much! Gosh I hope they don't. This flock coops at night at the neighbors, but our coop is much nicer and more secure, but guess guineas do not care about that LOL!!! I can only hope they love me enough to stay!
