    My DIY Automatic Chicken Door

Ok on this I didn't see any literature on the switches but are they programmed each for an on/off time? like on for 2 minutes then off? I am using a current switch like that which I can program all the on/off cycles on one switch but with this set up I am thinking that I do as mentioned earlier...

    My DIY Automatic Chicken Door

@Mouthpear So I looked over you youtube videos but the links above show as restricted in google. But if I am correct then if I get two of the THC15A timers, a din rail with some blocks, a power supply and a 12in Linear Actuator then this youtube video is the correct one for wiring that setup...

Anyone going to Gilmanor this weekend that might have some dominique or SLW eggs? I will have some extra room in my incubator due to a less than stellar effort by the post office that I need to fill.

Yes it is the same. You just have to ask around. I have three local one man operations within 2 miles of me that I know of. With the small woodmizer mills that are on the market a lot of farmers have bought one to supply fencing and building materials. Good thing is you can get things...

Truthfully. Not much. Based on the photos on Meyer's website and discussion in this very thread and the SFH facebook page Meyer's has non-SFH in their flock. I forget exactly what it was but the combs they show are not typical SFH.

Every building around my place is built with sawmill lumber. Never had those problems and paid a fraction as much as it would to get the same lumber from the big box stores. Pneumatic tools are your friend when doing construction projects.

    Dominique Thread!

The year before last had 4 newsletters go out. Not sure about last year since I missed my renewal and didn't re-up till this year. They really haven't been keeping up the site lately, even the members area. The only thing really kept up has been the breeder's directory in the member's area...

    Dominique Thread!

The club is very active over on facebook but you have to be a dues paying member to access it. They have a newsletter that is pretty good but it is only sent out electronically. Only a handful of hard copies are sent out to a handful of old timers that don't do email or the internet. Going...

Go to the meet us section of the webpage and contact either Julie Gupton or Suzette Ellington via email. It may take a little while but I am sure they can help you out.

Yeah we have pretty good deputies here. I had to dispatch two dogs before that were attacking sheep on a farm I rented before but didn't get any compensation that time. They did charge the woman for disposal of the dogs bodies and she was fined but her and her dogs already had a violation...

Well I just have to vent and say I really hate people that let their dogs run free. Over the last few months I have lost over a dozen chickens usually in the late afternoon after I let them out of their electric net enclosure. I couldn't figure out what was doing it but thought it had been...

Typically snow doesn't bother me or my chickens because it usually melts within a few days. Not this time though I still have snow on the ground from last week's snow storm.

It is. This is the social section and whatever we decide to talk about is what we talk about. There are plenty of other sections to participate in if you want strictly chicken related stuff.

    Difficult Pullet

I did that when she was relocated to coop with her siblings back in October and they were all fine and adjusted well up to a few weeks ago when this one started not being OK. She and few of her sisters all did the same thing and roosted in the shed back then. I guess I'll go back to that for a...

    Difficult Pullet

I have one pullet that refuses to go into the coop with the rest of the chickens at night. Instead she ends up finding a roost somewhere in the feed and tool shed which is an open air lean to. I have to end up going out every night and put her into the coop. I am worreid if I have to travel...
