    Meredith the Pullet?

Yeah? One out of six... Sounds about right for the odds of 2020. Thank you, everyone, for playing along today and helping me decide who is coming to dinner and who is going to make it all winter.

    Meredith the Pullet?

Ironically this is the only chick I named from the six that were hatched 7/25/2020. I'm hoping Meredith is a pullet... This one is very skiddish and I can barely get a photo of it.

I think this is a ROO too?

I'm pretty sure this is the one that crows from the coop. The six chicks hatched 7/25/2020 (almost 4 months ago) all stay in a different coop than the original rooster. The tail feathers on this one say ROO to me... This one has quite the attitude. So far this is chick 5 of 6.

    Pullet or Cockerel

OMG! I'm terrible at this. No wonder why they all stay away from the original rooster in the group.

    Pullet or Cockerel

Is this a pullet or a cockerel? I'm not sure which hen from my flock I got the egg from. I'm not sure which hen in my flock gave me the egg for this one. The rooster was a first generation Easter Egger. It hatched under my brood hen on 7/25/2020. I'm guessing pullet on this. I've been...

Is this a pullet or a roo?

It does have longer/thicker legs than the Plymouth Rock hen that I have. :hmm

    Pullet or Cockerel

Is this a pullet or a cockerel? I'm not sure which hen from my flock I got the egg from. It could have possibly been from one of my Lavender Orpingtons. The rooster was a first generation Easter Egger. It hatched under my brood hen on 7/25/2020. Someone is crowing from the coop. I possibly...

    The Morning Chicks

I love this candid photo of my brood hen, Blondie and two of the chicks hatched July 25, 2020. The chick on the left is Yang. The chick on the right is Meredith. (Yes, I named the chicks from this hatch after Grey's Anatomy characters.) Theme named hatches help me keep the hatch groups...

Help! My chicks are lost in the garage!

Yep, I agree with Punkybrewster (above). Turn the main light off. Turn the heat lamp on. Set out food and water. They may have trouble finding their way into the corral. Heck, my big hens can't find their way into the fenced in yard sometimes and I've had them over a year. Put the terrier...

    Meet my Chick!

LOVE your chick names!!! Perfect! I hatched some EE's too (7.25 and 7.26). I named the six of them off of characters of Grey's Anatomy. (I only hatch once every year or every other year.) The way I name them helps me remember which group they hatched with... Congrats on the new additions...

Successful Hatch of SIX with my Brood Hen

Blondie the Buff Orpington brood hen hatched six of the eight eggs I gave her this weekend, July 25 & 26, 2020. I just wanted to show off my new babies! I'm so excited that six of them hatched and are super healthy! They can run up the ramp and jump in the coop at only four or five days old...

Red Sex Link (hen) and 1st Generation Easter Egger -- Is a light chick a roo?

I have a 1st Generation Easter Egger rooster. I bred him to a Red Sex Link hen that I purchased at TSC last fall. I used a brood hen to hatch the eggs. The egg that I hatched from the Red Sex Link hen produced a yellow chick. Does this mean that it is most likely a male? Here's a picture of...
