Not my best hatch rate ever, but with 20 new chick's I'm happy! 36 eggs, 35 fertile, 6 quitters and the rest died during pip/zipping :/ but we have 20 healthy little ones and 30 guinea eggs going in!
oh my gosh guys I think I need to ask for an intervention before the addiction gets out of hand xD this is my third hatch this year and we have a bunch of guinea eggs going in after the rest of these eggs hatch! Who knew hatching would be so much fun??
I think it somehow might have gotten a hair. I'm afraid to mess with it because every time I tried to move it or almost got it with tweezers it would wiggle and make it go a bit deeper
OK guys I'm not sure what to do! One of our chick's has a string of some sort wrapped around its foot and cutting into the skin and I absolutely CANNOT get it out. I tried for almost an hour to no avail. I'm not sure what to do!
Woohoo! I set 36 eggs eight days ago, and candle tonight. We'll 35 of them are developing, one was a blood ring. One has a bug Crack in the Shell though, so I'm hoping that one still manages to make it!
Wish me luck guys, this is my third round hatching :) I just set 36 today of a barnyard mix I got! We just finished a hatch of 19 out of 30 eggs (got them from a friend, a lot were not fertilized)
thanks! I saved 12 from my first hatch, horrible hatching rate, but hey it was my first go. It was a little under 50% hatching. Lost 4 because my cat jumped on the incubater and shot the Temps up while I was at school, and killed the rest of the eggs.
I just have some barnyard mix, from our chickens, 25 left from 29. I want to get better with the incubater before ordering some salmon favorella (not Sure on spelling xD, cochin and maybe a few EE
Thanks! I always used the old broody hen, so I'm happy I finally got an incubater. I've been likr glued to the little window fighting the urge to open it!
The only reason i let them out is because the male i bought was sleeping on the roosts already and came back at nights.
Yes. Pen was closed when they dissapeared
