    I know hens sell best, I don't have any adults to sell, but I can hatch some in the spring and grow them a bit. When should I start hatching? Is there a way I could sex the chicks hatched?

    Thanks guys! I do butcher my own birds, so the extra males are no problem! I had a friend hatch out some of my eggs, the chicks ate a month old now, the looked so cute and now they are getting adult feathers, and look even better!

    Hi guys, I have has chickens since 2012, this year i got ducks and turkeys. My husband says my hobby needs to start paying for its self. I want to breed and sell my birds but i am not sure where to start.... I have birds and a incubator but as far as anything else i need some help

    I only give each coop 3 cups. 14 birds in each coop, 3 coops. I just give them feed incase someone didnt find food. in the winter they are cooped and get busy treats like pumkin and suit cakes.

    I thought scrach was food. my birds are free to eat what they find. I have no cages or fences. With 6.5acers for them do play.they are let out of the coop at 9:30am. Most of the day they are off in the woods. Until 8:30pm when they go to bed.

    I just put the food in the feeder vs tossing it on the ground. So it is easier to mix it in one bin.

    Thanks! The Man looked like farmer so I didnt get feed, i wanted to ask about pig feed. Normally old people have things they found out years ago :-). Also 100lb is only $17. My birds already get 100lb of scratch from the grain elevator. And i just mix the layer and duck feed in with the scratch.

    I went to buy layer crumble and duck feed, i had this old Man ( 80years old at least) Laugh at me. He shook his head and said get some pig protein and walked out. Any info on pig protein for bird, is it better than what i buy? I was going to ask the Man But he was gone.

    The turken layed her first egg and the older welsummer is Starting to crow, im hoping the chick is a hen But im not sure

    Yes welsummer is a Roo, and the turken is a hen, still not sure on the newer welsummer

    They dont really quack, Squacks just Squacks lol. They still Sound like babys, both have still have louder voices. Im hoping for hens, so far the Tails are strait

    I am happy to announce Squacks has made a full recovery! All that remains is a scars. Squacks and squirt are back in the flock! he is able to run and attack at his will. Squacks is the guard duck.

    I thought she was sick because she screamed at me and tries to bite me. So i picked her up to put in a seprate cage and she freaked out. Then i seem the like of eggs she was sitiing on so i put her in a dog crate with 3 eggs. She us very protective of them!
