Interesting, isn't it, how we learn as we go. Having the experiences and tips of others is extremely helpful! When I went out this morning around 7:00, there were no eggs. At 9:00, there were two. That might be all I get today from my four ladies.- zarafa121

How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?
I have four Red Sex Link hens who started laying the beginning of August. I usually get three to four a day even with no lights and colder temps. I thought for sure they would have quit laying for a while over the winter, but they continue to go strong (well, I have one slacker, but that's ok)...- zarafa121

I read on this site somewhere that rye seed isn't the best for the birds but can't remember why. Mine started eating wheat and barley but lately have ignored the wheat.
