I've been to the Clanton AL show. Clanton is up by Montgomery and the show is held at a very small fairground, which is on Airport Road. Actually it's right next door to the airport.
My first order from Ideal was 14 Silkies, 4 white, 4 red, and 6 blue. Well, the blues seem very dark, almost black and some of them are quite small. I got them around the middle of October. The red are sturdier looking, as are the whites. I'd say the whites look the best, but I lost 1 of...
I Googled 'fabric poncho pattern' and saw there are a number of sites with directions. If you like the drapey poncho style of clothing, they could be made from soft fabrics and worn over a blouse and skirt or pants.
Have fun with your project.

You can make a poncho out of a piece of fabric. Square fabric or rectangular. If it's square the opening for your head would go in the very center. If it's rectangular put the long ends together and the width of the fabric will go across your shoulders. If you want to put buttons on it, open...
Thanks, Lil Ducky, for your communication about a logo for me. : )
I sooooooooooo want to go down the Keys to Key West and the Conch Republic! Now that I'm not working I could just take off and do that! Oh, wait, DH would feel badly having to stay home and tend the chickens! Well, fooey, I...
Those are beautiful and so creative. I'm interested. How do you work to submit a proposal? Our 'farm name' is Possadillohill for possums and armadillos, both of which we have in abundance in this corner of Alabama. We have a couple of Lakenvelders, few Silkies and a pair of Old English Game...
Majolica but most of my pieces are not originals. All the pieces are green and/or yellow, and all my originals are the corn design. I have a number of plates, mostly with a leaf theme.
Hand thrown pottery I've collected from various travels. I enjoy finding pottery from places we have...
I would seriously hesitate to become a rep for any stamp company right now. I was a Dream Impressions rep and loved it but I was about my only customer. I would send family members stamping products for birthday and Christmas gifts but I bought way too much of my own product. Buy from your DD...
LOL, yes, there are those of us sillies cluttering up the place who still think they will ALWAYS want a hen to go broody because we haven't experienced what an annoyance it can be. I'll try to remember how eager I was for it to happen when I get to the "Oh, no, not again" stage.
Congratulations. I'm still waiting for my chicken house chickens to produce an egg, but my kitchen chicken surprised me today with her first egg. I just fixed her a nesting box yesterday!
I've been wondering that myself but there must be valid reasons. LOL, but when I read of their efforts to stop the broodyness I always want to say "Can I have her". : )
I'm so sorry your egg fell but congratulations on getting it. I got my first egg today also and was actually surprised at the wonderful feeling it gave me.
Thank you everyone. I see she has gone back to her nest so I'm wondering about broodyness. I haven't gone over to see if she goes into 'protective mode', she's sitting sideways in the cradle and doesn't look comfortable. She's a Polish so I don't expect her to go broody. Maybe she just likes...
This is my 'house chicken', not one in the chicken house. I've had her 3-4 weeks and she was in a pen with roosters when I bought her. Would her eggs be fertile? I left the egg in the nest I had fixed for her just yesterday. Talk about cutting the timing close!
I'm so excited. DH is off...
We are happy you joined our group, Ty. Choosing a breed or breeds can be complex. I've changed my mind several times as to which breeds I want to raise, so right now there are a couple of this, a couple of that and a few odds and ends in my chicken house.
