    We got four little Silkie chicks this spring, "just for fun" and had them a week before we noticed those strange feet. Had they not all had those extra toes I would have thought there was something wrong! Had no idea chickens vary in the number of toes they have! They're awfully cute though!

    Hey loneoak05, Thank you for the reply - you give me courage. I just don't want to feel like I'm being mean by locking her up in the brooder room if there's a chance her willingness to sit is just going to be temporary. I'll just have to keep an eye on her.

    RSL pullets. I have several girls that look just like them, and by far, the SL eggs are my FAVORITE!! You're gonna love the taste of those eggs, especially if they can free range a bit - yummy!
