One of the times I took the lid off and set it down something hit the little fan. I was so worried it broke. I turned it off and looked but it was fine. I didn't want that to happen again so I unplugged it. So from now on I will have a clear desk to place the lid on.
I had that happen to me. Mine were fine. I encourage you to make sure the lid is on securely. Once or twice I noticed my lid was not put back on correctly and the numbers were a little off. Hope that helps.
Yay! It's so exciting to see the veins!
They do sound delicious and they are but they don't have a hint of chocolate in the meat. Lol
Candling was by far the funnest part. I learned a ton and my kids did too.
If I would have cracked open all the eggs when the first one hatched I would have had 4 more turkeys and a duck most...
Thank you! The hardest part was waiting! It seemed so slow. The first candling I didn't see much. My chicken eggs were so dark I really couldn't see much the whole time. The turkeys take longer so it took longer to see things that I had looked at in candle photos I have seen online. It might...
Hello,
I just finished my first hatch. I did it dry and it went well. Well a few things went wrong but I did end up with 7 baby turkeys and 2 chicks.
I candled mine more times then I should have but it was amazing at the end to see the little babies moving. My kids loved it too. I learned so...
One of mine had colors like your but it was a hen (because she was a farm store bird). She didn't have the long saddle and tail feathers or a comb so tall so young. I agree with the other posts.
Can I vote on cuteness too. Very cute and beautiful mixes. I love all the diff feather color patterns. I can't wait to hatch some of my barn yard mixes.
I have a few girls who are shaped like your girl. They are hens! Looking at the shape is one things but the bright flashy color patterns that don't blend is what have really made my Roos stand out. Also the saddle feathers on my Roos are much longer. All my Roos also grew long tail feathers...
My EE eggs are large to extra large eggs. They lay blue, green, olive and brown eggs depending on the bird. I had a beautiful Sussuex but he didn't make it. He was a nice big bird but got week when I changed him off the starter feed. I was new with chickens and didn't see the signs till too...
Hope someone else comments. It's been 2 yrs since I had my EE's. All my local farm stored carry EE's and don't label them right.
I have not had a yellow one.
They r great friendly birds. I have 4 kids and picked kind breeds for that reason. They r my smallest ones but super hardy and pop out...
My female is more peaceful around my animals, welcomes other dogs in more quickly and protects my kids at all cost. My male will lick u to death and cuddle tons but he is off on his own adventures with the drop of a squirrel. We have put in lots of training with both to show them our...
Wow. This is very different then may experience. I have a roo that finally started crowing at a year and a half. My other ones didn't mature till 8 months to a yr. late bloomers. So I haven't seen that happen. Hope someone else has some more info.
What I do know is each of mine always had their...
Well I am glad to read that the hens off the eggs for a bit doesn't hurt them. I had the same issue. Only I have 3 broody hens. I throw them out of the box in the morning and night so they eat when I feed the others. They all three lay in the box together or sometimes one at a time.
I really...
