Terrible Massacre.... Why? Graphic details with possible graphic pics.

When everyone heads in for the night, I'd grab her then and put her in the separate boody coop you have. If the problem continues, you know she's not responsible but if she is the responsible party, I think you already know how to solve that problem. Good luck to you.

Cut back on cholesterol and saturated fat...

Thanks PaulaJoAnne for that great find on the Gutenberg Project. Have you got any more like that? I'll be saving them to my puter for later perusing? Must go now though to hang up some clothes on the line.

Cut back on cholesterol and saturated fat...

Quote: Hve you read The Untold Story of Milk? The author talks quite a bit about these societies and their traditional diets. Also how when the young people leave and eat the Western diet, they become ill, but regain their health if they return to eating the "old" foods. Very interesting...

Cut back on cholesterol and saturated fat...

Quote: That is eating too much carbohydrates. Particularly refined carbohydrates...read pop, chips, kool-aid, sugary snacks, pasta, rice, crackers, baked goods (yes, even homemade ones). Carbohydrates turn to glucose in the body. Too much glucose (normal amount of blood sugar is no more...

Cut back on cholesterol and saturated fat...

Most of you are on the right track. It is very much about eating real food and locally produced foods if at all possible (your own back yard is the best.) However, it is also more than that. Humans never evolved to eat the things we eat now. Agriculture, meaning the cultivation of grain...

    What's your favorite movie soundtrack?

I can't believe this you guys forgot the best sound track ever. All those others are great but the absolute best is "Night at the Roxbury".

    Whats you favorite T.V. commercial??

We have a restaurant chain in canada called A&W. I love their commercials. They're always funny without any sexist garbage added to it. My favourites are the introduction of the new Sirloin Uncle Burger and the one where the trainee accidentally inflates the "burger" for the roof inside the...

Have you considered a rescue organization. I'm pretty sure that a simple google search would hook you up to some breeders and rescue groups. Good luck and post pics when you get yours.

People Please! Stop talking about your chickens!

Quote: Uhmmm...I have wyandottes both GL and SL and they are not mean.!! They are independant / feminist minded. Don't be knocking the wyandotte. They may not be the kind of chicken that climbs into your lap for a scratch but they also don't take flack off my roo and are a great free...

People Please! Stop talking about your chickens!

Looking for food grade DE in PNW, or Canada?

Hi Autumn Mama. Try these people. I got my DE from the local feed store. They sell it as a preventative for scours in calves. Should be the same stuff though. http://www.diatomitecanada.com/fossil-shell-flour-diatomaceous-earth-animal.htm

To whoever asked if BR's ever went broody...

I currently have 2 Barred Rocks that are broody. They are so cute too. My DH thinks they're just faking it because they don't fuss at me or try to bite me when I ask them to stand so I can remove any exta eggs that were laid in their nests. I get gentle clucks from them and they put down...

    Guinnea/Chicken Cross?

OK, that one guin-hen (turken) cross looks like a vulture. **shudders** Thank god they're sterile. Kinda the same situation as a mule which is a horse X donkey.

    sexing guinea chicks?

I'm no expert, but the breeder I got mine from only sells them straight run as he says they can't be sexed. Far as I know, most people have a hard enough time telling the sexes of the adult birds and you only know you have a female when you hear the "buck wheat" sound that only the females make.

    What is this!? Pleas Help!

I was thinking that the first one looks like a honeysuckle bush and the rest is a grape vine. Your so luck to have grapes growing wild on your property. Only thing we get growing wild around here are choke cherries...which actually make a fantastic jelly. Oh, and I have a yellow rose that...

    How many is too many??

Wow, this is just scarey! If the sexing is correct and she's not able to sell the roos and instead has to cull them that means that she's paid roughly $56 for each pullet. Kinda puts my $3 - $5 chicks(all sexed rare breed pullets) into perspective as cheap chicks.

OMG Selinagil. This is too funny. I was just looking at your thread. Your keets are adorable. Don't they just have such huge eyes. Sorry though I can't help you with your bantam though.

    Find the Lavender Guineas

The guineas were my husbands idea, therefore his problem if they become a problem. I'm hoping not but will cross that bridge when or if I ever get to it. As far as more...hopefully these two are male and female so they can make their own "more". Cynthia - Thank you for the kind offer of eggs...
