It was a serious game of hit and miss for me! Only the peafowl that were born here actually stayed! There are elements of danger involved too letting them free-range, we have lost several, but good luck!
I know I shouldn't be posting here, but this was the most promising area for answers. This is my peafowl egg at 27 days old, due tomorrow. I had two eggs, one has hatched out already (yesterday) and this one is left. Does this egg look good?
Hey! Congratulations! I got my first egg last year. Peahens can lay eggs at one supposedly but I think it's more usual for around the age of two!
When my peahen laid eggs she laid 7 and I put them under a broody chicken as the peahen didn't go broody! She laid every other day by the way.
I have found this small egg outside my Chicken/Peafowl pen. I have 6 laying hens, and a Peahen that lives with them. The Peahen is 9 months old and not laying, is this a partridge egg?
Use a net but be careful not to hurt them. I would recommend catching them at night.
I use Anti Mite Extra. http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_nkw=anti+mite+extra+&_trksid=p5197.c0.m1950
It is in quite a small bottle but it works great! Good luck and try and do it asap..
