Chickens don't need "fodder" it will impact their crop please kist sprout the seeds and feed to them. No mold issues doing this way either. All nutrients are in the seeds not the blades of grass.
Mold solution ... Less amount of seeds 1/2" thick, soak in acv and water for 24 hours, rinse daily one time by spraying acv on your seeds then rinse with water. Need good ventilation too = no mold www.aislingfarms.blogspot.com
You don't realize it til one does which I had one die cause I went with what people said instead of really researching it. I processed him and that was the culprit. Mine all seemed fine too.sprouts are where the nutrients are not the blade of grass so why risk it cause "they seem fine" I spent a...
FYI you should only "sprout" for chickens... Giving the full grown fodder will impact their crop and kill them. I learned the hard way. Fodder is great for rabbits though.

I am on day 6 of my first fodder and it is so easy! I will def be doing it all the time
Questions:
How much fodder does one grown bird usually eat? (I have 60-70 birds so was curious so I can get a large enough bin)
What do you guys do during winter months? Does it smell if kept in the...
My plan for a compost bin in the run is sawing up tree rounds to contain the items in an circular area for the chickens to get into. I am wondering do I need to put anything at the base of the area and then pile my compost stuff on top or maybe put left over fencing ? The run is washed...
