I will get a picture tomorrow. I am thinking tumor since it seemed to rapidly develop. I am certain the lesions he initially had were fowl pox, and he has healed up nicely compared to what he looked like 3-4 weeks ago. I thought the lameness was an injury but it hasn’t improved. The eye...
We have dealt with Cocci multiple times this spring. He was sick with it back when he was around 4-5 weeks old. I don’t think he is exhibiting symptoms that would call for Corid treatment. I do think it’s something neurological. It could be that because he was so sick when he was younger it has...
We have only dealt with scaley leg mites/regular mites once last winter. We have been fortunate enough to not encounter anything else as far as worms go, so we haven’t treated before.
It’s possible. No other signs of infection present that are noticeable. Eating and drinking still. He’s definitely not the happiest being in his own area but it’s for his own good. He really can’t get around the best.
Update: I believe it is an underlying neurological issue causing his lameness. His right side has not improved. And his right pupil is dilated and fixed. It won’t react to light or retract in any way. It also appears his overall eye socket is slightly protruding from his face unlike the left...
Agree. And how he got injured is a mystery.. always something over here. What is the best way to dose with turmeric or baby aspirin? In the water? Or in treats like scrambled eggs?
I will check him over again in a bit. I didn’t notice anything the last two days when I’ve looked him over. Nothing going on with his head other than his comb lesions. He was standing more than he has in the last day or so just by keeping him in his crate and limiting his mobility
Yes I did. I didn’t see anything abnormal. I was worried at first it would be bumble foot or something on top of fowl pox. He’s sticking his one leg out and kind of hopping around. I didn’t feel anything protruding that would indicate a broke bone. He lets me pick him up. He is able to stand.
Well that’s a plus! This guy is also limping so I’m not sure if he hurt himself or what else is happening. He’s on crate rest until further notice. More lesions have popped up so he’s looking rough. Hoping after this week it’ll start to get better.
Ugh, what a bummer. There’s 2 others with him currently that we haven’t separated. Guess I’ll have to do that today. And thank you for the advice. That makes sense so I’ll hold off on fussing over it too much. Is it best to offer supportive care like poultry cell to keep his immune system...

Since this was recently discussed thread, I figured I’d add to it. I am trying to figure out if we are dealing with fowl pox or a pecking injury. I have a hard time believing it’s fowl pox, but it would be our first encounter. Started putting...
Is that 1/4 tsp to 1/4 gallon? I saw 1 tsp/gallon also. Or just 1/2 tsp/gallon? This is our first time using this and want to make sure we have it correct!
Do you have to make the dose fresh everyday like you do with Corid? I have a 12 week old roo who had cocci back when he was 4-5 weeks. He is seemingly having a relapse. Weird poop, very pale and getting to be lethargic. Hoping this will help take care of it.
I am not sure since I haven’t used it before, I just have it on hand. My girl didn’t make it long enough to try it.
I just found this after googling:
