Good thing that you got that much done before that rain supposed to be headed our way from Mexico waters those weeds again.

    The Moonshiner's Leghorns

Ok, thank you! So I won't have to start hunting for egg's at least until sometime in March incase one or two might decide to start early. It will also help me to know when to start them on layer feed.

What about Black Leghorn bred with the darker brown Leghorn. Would that create your chocolate Leghorn, and you'd still have the yellow legs? Just trying to help as an idea.

Yes, it's been nicer with a bit more wind blowing. Staying up all night you'd have to do it in the dark, or your electric bill will go through the roof.

Years ago, I used to paint those ceramic statues. You could sometimes find them at the thrift stores or Goodwill. You can paint them the way you want them, and even glue thing's like little flowers on them. People used to like what I did, and paid me to do their garden statues too. Here's a...

How long does it take them to get past the leggy stage? I thought that Leghorn's were supposed to have legs.

Tried to take a picture of the Moony's that hatched last month. They are out there in their new digs and enjoying the growout pen. They are a pretty active bunch.

Tried to snap a picture of the chicks that I hatched last month and moved out there to the growout pen. They are a pretty active bunch. The breeder that I got the hatching egg's on this batch said that he likes the cockerel on the far right. He said that the pullet that looks almost white is...

    The Moonshiner's Leghorns

@The Moonshiner I hope these chick's will be laying by spring when they try to say there's another egg shortage. I just bought me a couple of these to prepare for it. :gig https://a.co/d/6tQK3FM

That's one of the reasons why I waited until closer to fall to do any hatching. The batch that's due to hatch on the 10th of this month will be the last one I do for this year. These should all be laying by spring, and since they are Leghorn's, they should lay egg's pretty good. Thank you for...

How is everyone and their flocks doing? I've been playing musical chairs with these chick's that I have recently been hatching out. Moved the oldest ones into the main part of the coop and pen, then moved the next batch out there to the growout pen so that the next batch that hatches can go...
