We got five baby chicks in January or February I think we may have two roosters. What do you think. The largest one is starting to caca doodle do every morning for the last few days. It’s not super loud but getting louder with time. He-she started this a few weeks ago and it wasn’t...
So I go to check on him one more time before heading out to get some work done. he seems fine actually having with the other girls. on my way back into the house I see I think HAWK on the antenna. ita about the size of my eastereggers or bit smaller. Smaller than Walter for sure.. the Hawk has...
Walter is doing much better. After thoughts of the possibility of him being broody I have been trying to make him get up and walk around. Over this weekend I needed to go out of town and the wife and daughter had all day softball tournament. So she just put Walter in the back yard not the run...
Came home for lunch and found Walter sitting by the door to the run like he wants in there. They usualy want out on the run to feed on the grass. He dosn't want to get up.
...work on the computer. Hens start squawking like they’re getting attacked. Sure enough one of the other hens an Easter egger is kicking Walters’s *** as he just sits there and takes it. He has always been the DOM one of the three hens. Crap… just put him back out in the grass. More chicken...
Yes Walter is a hen. I just call her him. Started as a family joke but she is Him.
His last egg was the day before I found him on the floor of the coop and not willing to get up. My son told me the evening before this he was sitting in the run and wouldn't get up and eat some meal worms he had...
Walter Walter Walter….. Ok so I am starting to think and hope broody may be the case. last night I again put him in the unused nesting box in the coop. This morning the other hens came out for food but he just sat there. I pick him up and kinda forced him to need to stand on the concrete patio...
Bump!!!
Wife thinks she may be broody? Iwill do some reading on this. Will broody hens not get up even if you pick them up and set them in the back yard grass? Walter is one yrar old and has been laying about six months.
Well I couldn't feel any thing I think feels like an egg in the vent. from the outside of belly I was feeling for anything such as an egg. didn't feel any thing there. Walter is right at 1 year. I am going to check with the local feed store now.
Walter is the same today. going to check his vent. Nervous about this I assume if there is an egg stuck in there I will feel it. he did drink some gatoraid last night.
