I love people like you! Just think if more people were like you there would be way less animal suffering in the world. You shouldn't feel bad about how you are, you should be proud of it.

What about Silkie Roo's as far as temperament goes? Anyone out there have an aggressive one? I've heard they are alot like the large cochins in their laid back personalities?
thanks!
Well the thing I find a tad puzzling is that she was in a perfect sitting position. She didn't even look dead, she looked like she does when she lays a egg except her eyes were closed. Wouldn't a heart attack cause her body to ..I don't know...more like laid out?
kkatknap, I was thinking the samething. She is laying and has been for a couple months. She literally looked like she was sitting on a egg when I found her. Can they die this fast from that? I felt around her vent and couldn't see or feel anything??
thanks
Thanks, Okay I'll try to answer all the questions to see if we can figure it out.
What type of bird , age and weight. = 8 month silver laced wyondotte, normal weight
2) What is the behavior, exactly. = noticed no change in behavior at all
3) How long has the bird been exhibiting symptoms?=...
Maybe some of you have some ideas on why this happened to Louise today. I bought her and her sister (silver wyondottes) as 4 month old poults. They are now 8 months old and have been in perfect health. This morning they were 100% and tonight Louise was dead. She was in the "laying position"...
Thanks for taking the time to explain yourself to me.
As for the crazy glue a simular thing happened to a friend of mine and I about 8 years ago. We were riding horses in the Rockies and her dog got cut on a branch we think. The cut was at least 6" long but only just deep enough to...
Barretfarms, not to be rude here...but why on earth would you not take that great dane to the Vet at the time? And what does a animals "price" have anything to do with how much it should or shouldn't suffer?
Thanks for the kind words Faykoko and Booswalia, I don't have a website, as I'm just a amateur that loves taking pictures. Mostly of horses, dogs and wildlife. Although a website might be fun! thanks for the idea. Most of those pic's are from my Nikon D200, but a couple are from an older...

Citygirl, I can totally understand where your coming from and wouldn't want to be in your shoes. I can't answer your questions except that the Benadryl sounds the most humane, although you have to get it in to him. Is it the pill or liquid form? would it possibly burn his crop first? do...
Well from what all I've read...chickens aren't suppose to be too bothered by the cold? My hens informed me that they are not reading the same book, infact they have never I don't think heard of it. They insist that I feed them "in the coop" and have refused to come out even for their fav...
Well I'm not even 100 percent sure that thats what mine have, but I suspect that the silkie I brought home about a month ago may have had it or have it. Her eye (left only though) got foamy and closed up basically. Then she got the sniffles with clear nasel discharge. Then another hen about...
Doug, nice looking birds! Just wondering what you are using as a leg leash? Do you walk them with this or stake them out or what? How long does it take to get them use to it?
cheers
