The good thing that happened to me today, I found my way back to BYC, its been a long time and I am just having a look and have seen a few I remember, Hi Debi
I'm no expert but I have 2 dexters and 2 horses on just over 4 acres, and cows eat more than horses, I hand feed all year round,at the moment hay is really expensive, and grain and pellet type feed is even worse. I think you need to look at how much your pasture can provide and the price of...

What did you see under her tail ??? its 10.30pm here is it worth staying up for I did'nt see her lay down all night your time and she has been very restless !!
When you milk all the time, it gets to be a relaxing nice time with your goat, but I remember the first time, me and the goat were stressed out of our minds and my hands cramped from the unusual use, but I realy miss having goats now, and envy you . When you milk her again later, make sure the...
No they bob because they are trying to hatch and pecking inside the egg, the water dosen't get through the shell, unless they have allready broken it, in whitch case you can see that and wouldent put it in the water, you can allso put an egg to your ear and listen to it but that takes a while if...
I would mark the live ones, and put them all back, when they hatch I then check the unhatched ones, thats why I think the floating thing works , you could just throw them out, but I like to give everything a chance.
get a bowl of water, as warm as the eggs should be, put the eggs in, they will float, now watch the eggs, the ones that are still alive will bob up and down, some times they even cheep, give it 5-10 minutes. This really works, give it a go
I dont know why you say they are not pets, you are obviously very fond of them and want the best for them I envy you, I haven't had goats in years, and I miss them very much. Good luck with the kidding
