I have another one that looks EXACTLY like yours tillymay, and I mean exactly. I'll see if I can get a pic of her tomorrow, but she is such a spaz! I call her Popcorn. :P
Thanks! She has become very beautiful and is settling down quite a bit, which is really nice. She had me fooled for a while too. I think it's crazy ironic that she is actually the first one of my EE group to start laying! :P
Got my FIRST EE egg today from the one that 90 % told me was a rooster!!!!! So glad I didn't get rid of "Jagger".... You know, I thought " he" had the moves like! :P
It's the middle one! :D
Do you feel any movement? Teets filling up? Have they come into season this year? Do you have a gelding that would flirt with them a little to see if them come into heat?
The best way to know for sure is to have a vet palp them. But, I understand expenses. ;)
Thanks so much! I'm glad I hung on to her, too. Though she did have me convinced for a short time when she was younger. :P
Love the name of your boy, BTW!
Here's my "what is it" at 17 weeks. Everybody on this thread has thought roo from the start. On the EE club thread, the majority is pullet. No crowing, no mounting. It doesn't look anywhere near as manly as yours, but has red. But the patterning is very even. ????
You're welcome!
Alpacas LOVE to be cooled off in the summer, but since their fiber is so dense, it can end up acting as a heat insulator if completely drenched. People usually put out sprinklers that they can go stand/lay over and if a little water gets elsewhere it's okay. But not to soak them...
Hi there! I worked for a large alpaca breeder for 3+ years and networked into ranch sitting for other alpaca farms and even working at a fiber mill for a few years. I've been out of it for a little while, so don't know if what much that I know has changed, but will add my two cents as well...
Sorry you're having trouble finding him, I really wish you the best.
I often see people on my local Craigslist posting ads trying to find their old horses, I'm not sure if it works for them, but maybe it could for you? Post in the Texas areas and ask in your ad for people to Spread the word if...
That's a wild comb on Beetle!!!
They don't look like RIRs to me, more like the pictures of Welsummers I've seen. I'm a newbie, too. :P
One of my RIRs laid at 17 weeks and the other hasn't done anything yet and is now 23 weeks. :)
