Is this a prolapse or egg bound?

No, I cannot feel anything but I have never experienced anything like this before so I really don’t know. She is eating and drinking but she is still in distress. 😞

Is this a prolapse or egg bound?

She is not getting any better but she did finally drink some water today. She has been eating some of her feed, thawed frozen peas and some cooked egg yolk. I have also been giving her (today and yesterday) a calcium citrate tablet. She continues to stand like a penguin and try to push. As...

Is this a prolapse or egg bound?

I feed them a mix I purchase at a local feed mill. No, I have not been feeding that to her. Many articles I read stated to put her on a “green” diet and limit sunlight to only 8 hours.

Is this a prolapse or egg bound?

These are some pics from this morning 3/9/22 after soaking in water with some Dawn dish soap. I gave her 2 more crushed Tums and applied cortisone, honey and olive oil. I also fed her some thawed frozen peas and zucchini. She ate the peas but apparently is not a fan of zucchini 🤣. I tried to...

Is this a prolapse or egg bound?

Thank you! She doesn’t seem to be getting better. I gave her some crushed Tums (she did peck and eat this) last night and soaked her in warm water last evening. She seems to be getting weaker as she is sitting like a penguin (or trying to get an egg out) and bracing herself up against the...

Is this a prolapse or egg bound?

I will try olive oil instead and some honey. Yes, I believe the blackish tissue may be drier. I will try some Tums. Thank you 😊

Is this a prolapse or egg bound?

Thank you for replying. Yes, it seems like there is an awful lot coming out (comparing to other pics I see of prolapsed). 😞

Is this a prolapse or egg bound?

I found this Whiting True Blue hen crouched in the corner this morning. She is about 1y and 9 months old. I soaked her backend in warm water (very dirty with feces and sawdust) and tried to push everything back in. I also used hydrocortisone cream. She just pushes everything back out. I...

    Extreme Bullying

Hello, I have 2 SF and they are being bullied also. I have 15 hens and a rooster of mixed breeds. Is this what your SF look like from being bullied? Mine are so docile and do not stand up for themselves which I did read is typical of the Salmon Faverolle breed. 😞

What animal tracks are these in the snow?

The chickens will be a year old June 1st so they are full grown. I believe each “track” to be all 4 paws in one track not the “track” to be one paw 🐾. 🤷‍♀️

What animal tracks are these in the snow?

We do have some deer cams but my son stated it looked like a squirrel 🐿 print and I did see a small red/pine squirrel running around there this morning. 😆

What animal tracks are these in the snow?

This was my fear but I think it was just a small pine/red squirrel 🐿

What animal tracks are these in the snow?

Yes, I believe you are correct. My 15 yo son said the same thing and I did see a small pine/red squirrel 🐿 by the coop this morning. (I was so afraid 😱 it was going to be rats)

What animal tracks are these in the snow?

I found these tracks today along with a hole dug. The hole only goes until the concrete footing of the chicken coop (old milk house) and then stops. There is a picture with a footprint from one of the chickens next to the mysterious animal print for size comparison. I am not sure what animal...
