My 2 ringneck hens free range with me flock of 11 chickens and a rooster. They chickens all sleep in their shed and the pheasants sleep in the enclosed run on a tree stump. As chicks, we clipped their wings so they couldn't fly. Now that their wings have grown back in, they learned not to sly...
Here is a pink eyed bird next to a pharaoh sibling. This silver x pharaoh breeding produced 1/3 silvers, 1/3 pharaoh, and 1/3 pink eyed(dark pink) light silvers? What would you call these??
What color would you call the above silver and caramel bird? This color makes up the majority of my breeding flock of silvers. I breed pharaoh to silver usually and my last hatch produced pink eyed really light greys, not albinos, but a lack of pigments for sure.
Here are the parents of the birds. They had older babies and the chicks which I got. All the older ones had identical white markings on the neck like mine do.
Does this look like a male/female pair of pheasants? I'm guessing the top head (in the head photo) is the female and the male is on the bottom. In the 2nd picture, the one I think is the female is feathering in faster and has the iridescent and brown feathers coming in. They are around 8 weeks old.
anyone know what color of golden pheasant this is next to the normal colored red golden? 4 chicks hatched caramel and grey and 3 hatched out brown and black like normal. Chicks are 100% purebred, just a recessive gene came out! Any ideas?
Does the lighter pheasant chick in this picture look like a cinnamon chick? My trip or reds just produced a hatch if 3 regular reds and 4 of this color? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Disregard the little quail chicks
Update on the Rosetta X Rosetta babies! They produced Rosetta's, Tibetans, pharoahs, English whites, tuxedo Tibetans and tuxedo Rosetta! I wasn't expecting all of that! A surprise in the hatcher to find all the different colors!
My chick ended up dying. It was eating and drinking on its own, but didn't have good vision. It ate enough to maintain weight, but not grow. It died at 6 days old. Its brooder mates were 4 times the size of it by day 6.
wow! that is crazy, did you ever figure out an official name for this coloration? Also, did yours have bad vision at all? Just need to know if I need to help minel.
I just hatched a chick from shipped eggs and it looks exactly like your albie! I couldn't believe it when I saw it. How did she end up? Did any of her offspring show her color again? I'm very curious as to what happened the last few months!
what will rosetta X rosetta produce? the color calculator says all kinds of colors, but I don't believe that. Mine are from a pharoah x tibetan tux breeding. Will those two colors pop back up?
