Dealing with a 1 year old rooster

There is no reason to keep him. Chances are he will just get worse.

    Time to rehome aggressive rooster?

The only responsible way to rehome an aggressive rooster is in a crockpot. Don't wait until he hurts someone and don't pawn him off on someone else. Keep in mind that one trip to the ER will pay for an awful lot of chicken feed.

If the pain is mild, you might try buffered aspirin. It helped my Basset.

    Decision to butcher rooster?

Coq au vin is traditionally made with mature chickens. I have never made it, though. I just put old chickens in the crockpot with garlic, onions, and assorted vegetables. Works for me.

Can I feed weevils to my chickens?

Chickens are scavengers. They can and will eat anything that doesn't eat them first. Weevils are fine.

    rabbit breed recomendations

This has nothing to do with your post but there used to be a place called "Walt's Wabbit Wanch or Widdle Wabbit Waisers. I wanted to stop and get a widdle wabbit but my husband was driving, and spoil sport that he was, he wouldn't stop.

    Mealworm raising

We raised mealworms at a pet shop I worked at. I don't now remember much about it, but we kept a layer of damp newspaper on top of the mealworm food. We used layer mash to feed them.

    Wanting to breed my rabbits.

It sounds like you need some basic information. I suggest you get the book, Storey's Guide to Raising Rabbits by Bob Bennett. It will tell you everything you need to know. I got my copy on amazon.

City Issued a Citation and claims we aren’t allowed to have chickens due to neighbor’s complaint. What are my options?

I didn't read the whole thread. This is just a comment. However, if you are given a citation for anything insist on being given the relevant statute number and then go to the local law library and look it up yourself. What an authority says the law is and what the law actually is may not be the...

A good comprehensive list for Angus

Where I used to live, beef cattle were routinely fed things like pumpkins, watermelons, cantaloupes, and other fruits and vegetables. That is where the culls from the packing houses ended up.

Goldfish in a water trough for steers?

Anacharis was the plant I used. I couldn't think of the name. It worked out very well. As for the plywood, I just tossed it in for shade because it was handy. The piece was old and weathered if that makes any difference. Anyway, if I had it to do over again, I would use a cinder block instead. I...

Goldfish in a water trough for steers?

I used to live in the San Joaquin Valley of California. Stockmen there routinely kept goldfish in their water tanks. So did I. I never heard of anyone having trouble with an overgrowth of algae in their tanks. Neither did I. The local farm advisor's office provided mosquito fish free of charge...

Goldfish in a water trough for steers?

I take it you have no personal experience with fish in the water tanks. I kept goldfish in my water tanks for years and they did a fine job of keeping the tanks clear and clean. I learned about goldfish from my neighboring stockmen and dairymen. I also learned that if asked, the local farm...

Goldfish in a water trough for steers?

The goldfish will do a fine job of clearing up the tank, but they won't do it overnight, or even in a week. All the years I had livestock I kept goldfish in the water tanks. My water tanks were always clean and clear. The only time I had trouble was once when the automatic float failed. The...

Goldfish in a water trough for steers?

I had goldfish in my livestock water tanks for years. So did my boss on the dairy where I worked as a milker. In fact, he is the one who gave me the idea. The fish kept the water clear and clean. I lived in the San Joaquin Valley in California and temperatures of over 100 degrees are not...

Welcome Home LGD! He cares more about me than the chickens!

He is never going to bond with the chickens. He will protect them by protecting the property. At ten months he is still very much a puppy.
