I agree I have had woodies and calls several times. I keep my surplus young in a pen together and they will readily cross. Woodies will cross with about any duck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We keep all our ducks and geese under netting which I feel is a must to keep small ornamental ducks safe from hawks and owls, but are swans are on about an acre pond no fencing and we do not have any problems they seem to spend the night on the water and nest next one of the duck pens.

Tendon clipping is another alternative but should be done by a vet or someone with experience, this doesn't involve removing any of the wing just cutting one tendon so the wing will not open all the way. We used to have a pair of Trumpeter Swans that had been tendon clipped.
