It's because those foods have parts that have a very similar structure to latex, but they don't actually contain latex. I.e., you're extra sensitive to latex and anything your body thinks might be latex. :')

I looked it up! It's a separate syndrome that's related to latex allergies, but it's not as common it seems.

I have a latex sensitivity (I love guac, but it upsets my tummy), my dad has an allergy, as do my husband and his dad. Hubby is also allergic to pistachios (and raw apples and a lot of raw vegetables and watermelon, and birch [which is related to apples] and hay etc etc). I had no idea that...

Reminds me of cows in the alley (except they can actually move :') )

Yeah, that's kind of what I was saying, it's totally possible to achieve those things. It's just that those ways aren't the cheapest, and don't work so well on a huge commercial scale (almost like tight-knit, local communities doing it themselves was better or something, lol!).

I honestly can't remember what our roos have sounded like in their teens. 😅

Yeah, all the hubbub about "factory farming is cruel", etc, needs more direction I feel like. A huge portion of those farms are really awful, but of course not all. It seems like people get caught up in the outskirts of it and decide all of it is bad in all of the ways, then it becomes a whole...

*Puffs up, inhales, ready to assert dominance* "RRRAAA-*kak kak cough voice crack*", oof, teenhood. 😂

I get it, I'm sorry you feel that way. There are things in my life too, that would really upset me to have someone even indirectly hint that I should be associated with even if it wasn't strictly directed at me, so I do understand how you feel. I hope you can get some good rest in sometime soon...

Ooh, kind of related, I used to have a lactose intolerance. I drank lactose free milk for a really long time, but I got addicted to it because in order to make it "lactose free", they just pumped it FULL of lactase, which is a sugar. So I was addicted to it, and the sugar was destroying my gut...

Oh, wow, that's interesting! There are so many examples of that, I feel like, where store bought milk or commercially produced flours cause a lot of issues for people, but the "real" stuff is perfectly fine! Our food is so lacking, it's sad.

Oh noo! That really sucks! It was so complicated when I had to go gluten free to figure out all the things I could and couldn't have, I couldn't imagine having to navigate around eggs, too. They're in practically everything!

Just to be clear, you don't think I'm actually antagonizing you, right? The general mood of this thread has been light hearted and teasing, and I am following suit. It seems in the past you've also gotten a little upset with me for joining in on such things, and I'm really not sure why at all. :(

Ay, the days of "this thing I have to do is boring, so I'm going to go liven it up with other things I have to do...". 😅 Ugghh, lol. I found that doing "20/10s" helped my general creativity. You work for 20 mins, then take 10 mins off. It was a great motivator, because we could technically stack...

I want a bean and cheese burrito from El Monterey. I wish I could have gluten. 🥲 Their tortillas were so perfect.

I used to have a mushy brain, but it was cured by my overly intelligent husband. 😌

Yeah, I used to be big into creative writing. Have you done NaNoWriMo or something similar? Those are often fun.

Lol, I've been there before. The inspiration never returned. I quit writing. 😌 What are you supposed to be writing?

Yeah that's true, it is so much cheaper. The cost of burying a person is insane. We had an angel baby before I got pregnant with this one, and she doesn't even have a headstone yet because it costs like 1.5k for a slab of granite that's 14x11". We were given the burial plot for free by a...
