I’m pretty sure it’s mycoplasma unfortunately. My flock has had it before and it looks like it’s back, but only the young chickens (6 months old) are showing symptoms so far. I brought the worst one inside, she has wheezing, sneezing, watery eyes and nose, and she’s usually skittish but let me...
Hey guys, I think I’m in trouble here. One of my chickens a respiratory bacterial infection pretty bad, and some of my others seems to be developing it. What’s the best antibiotic that I can buy? I know Corid is for coccidiosis and it’s for cows, but there’s a dosage for chickens that they can...
Does anyone know where I can buy chickens with the chocolate gene? Don’t mind the breed, but they’re super uncommon here in the U.S. and I’d love to have a couple!
Thank you! She’s a little over a year old and she has laid roughly 5-6 of these that i’ve seen. She does and has laid normal eggs, but I might have to take her to the vet if vitamin D and calcium don’t work. Do you know how much vitamin D and calcium I should give her? I don’t want her to...
Hello All! I have a bantam easter egger that is a year + a few months old. She seems very healthy and isn’t picked on or bullied by anyone else in the flock. However, I notice that every once in a while (which is too common for my liking), she’ll lay a soft shelled or completely shell-less egg...
Haha the combs are single and none of the original pair's kids have rose combs; all single combs. They all just seem more plump and filled out than the oegb's we had before, except one of them who is really small.
Hey everyone! When I was younger my mom and I went to a show and bought a pair of bantams. We both forget what the seller told us since it's been a few years, and I am curious to know what kind they are since they've had a few kids since moving into our coop. We started out with oegb's but...
So I’ve heard that Tylan can be bought in powder form and injection form and I need it for my chickens. I can’t find the powder form anywhere without having a prescription, but my local Tractor Supply has the injection form. I just feel really squeamish about injecting something into an animal...
We’ve battled with leg lice in the past and we’re still keeping up with the treatment, could that be it?? And we’ve had the same roosts, type of bedding, and run for almost 10 years now so I don’t think it’s any of those.
I have, but there doesn’t seem to be any signs of it so I’m not sure if that’s what it is or not. I’m hoping it’s just a deformity of some sort but I would think that deformities happen at birth.
Thank you! And I didn’t see any pus or anything but I noticed this a couple days ago so I’m hoping and praying that she just hit her eye or something. I really really really hope it’s not a disease.
