Two hours. Chilly and grey.
A while ago a rat chewed through one of the vent holes in the coop. I blocked it off with some mesh and if the rat was getting into the coop after the food, it was doing it after the auto door opened in the morning. Annoying but not a major issue. This afternoon I...
They're going to be messing about with time measurement on the last Sunday of this month. I'm just on the outside of the Bristol City rush hour, bearing in mind of course nobodies rushing due to vehicle and pedestrian congestion; unless one counts the retards on the electric scooters weaving on...
Waiting for a wool wash to finish.
I swear by my Merino wool and lambswool clothing. Keeping them clean and something like their original shape is inconvenient though.
Now I think that's a good looking hen. She looks like what an efficient forager should in my view.
Unfortunately, Sylph has that same look and she's nothing like as good as Mow.

However, one can tap a thread into plastic. Very difficult to do with any construction grade wood. I cut a thread and used bolts for fixing the bits I have on the Solway coop...
There is a reason, a few in fact.
I want to be able to site the coop on the ground if required. This means the coop needs to be detachable from any base it sits on.
The next Nestera option for this coop going up the range does provide legs but the legs are not long enough. It costs £80.00 more...
I've been thinking again. Yeah I know it's dangerous.
I built the frame the large Solway coop sits on out of wood and OSB board.
The board is already suffering from the elements and rat chewing.
Marine ply would help and the coops I built in Catalonia with marine ply fared better in all...
